Hello, my name is Edward Raff. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors (2012) and Masters (2013) degree in Computer Science, where I focused my graduate studies in Machine Learning. I'm currently a PhD student at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). My research area is in applying Machine Learning to the malware domain, and am supervised by Professor Charles Nicholas. I also work full time at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Strategic Innovation Group. Please see my linkedin for more of my work history.
I'm generally interested in all areas of Computer Science. I have a particular passion for Machine Learning, and the author of the JSAT library in my (limited) spare time. I like applying Machine Learning to interest problems, including Malware and Bioinformatics. I also have interests and experience in High Performance Computing, and algorithms development. Mostly any interesting and challenging problem will grab my attention.
On this site I host some of the my older projects that, and hope that you will find something of interest. I don't tend to keep this website up-to-date (web development isn't my thing), but I will keep the publications current.
